Food-Enzymes and Aging: Learn How Simple and Enjoyable Tactics Can Lead to Quality Life

Many food experts agree that your life span capacity can decrease if you over stimulate your body digestive glands for a long period of time.

Also using up too much of your own digestive enzyme reservoir can lead to the following:

- Premature aging (ex., old skin appearance)

- Being more susceptible to diseases

- Can make you vulnerable to daily life stress.

Enzymes are protein catalysts (A catalyst is a compound that facilitates a chemical reaction without itself being altered in the process) that act in roughly all biochemical processes that occur in the human body.

Enzymes have different tasks; some of them are specialized in aiding the immune system, thinking, talking, and the regular body motion such as breathing and walking. Others are specialized in fighting against carcinogens, poisonous and other toxic elements that can severely damage the body and lead to early death.

The other specialized enzymes are the digestive enzymes that certain glands produce (the mouth salivary glands, small intestines, glands in the stomach, and the pancreas) and are also supplied from foods rich with digestive enzymes.

These enzymes come from raw foods and other natural preserving process like the fermentation process can boost the number of enzymes in foods.

For the purpose of this article I’ll focus on raw foods and write another article about fermented foods next time. The enzymes in raw foods start helping by triggering the process of digestion in the saliva in your mouth and then the stomach.

The three digestive enzymes are amylases to digest carbohydrates, lipases to digest fat and proteases to digest protein.

Foods rich with enzymes help the pancreas and other digestive organs a great deal with the digestion process; therefore, these digestive organs can take a break so to speak. In our present time many people eat mostly cooked foods which can make the pancreas overwork in order to secrete the needed enzymes to digest the consumed “cooked to death” foods.

These cooked foods can eventually lead the pancreas and other digestive organs to hold back and secrete no more enzymes or little at best.

So make sure when you consume your cooked meals is to include some raw foods to help your digestive glands with the work. This way you can get other health benefits like strengthening the immune system, maintaining healthy skin, and becoming more resilient to combat diseases which all can translate to living a long life to its potential and preventing premature aging.

Not all raw foods contain sufficient amount of enzymes! as a result select them with awareness, and here is a list of some to help you with your selection:

-Legumes*

-Dairy Products (ex., raw milk and cheese, cultured yogurt)

-Nuts*

-Honey (not processed)

- Fruits (ex., Dates, pineapple, grapes, and bananas)

-Olive oil (extra virgin)and other unprocessed oils

-Grains*

- Raw Fish and slightly cooked animal organs or even better raw organs like liver.

*Many experts of nutrition beleive that grains, legumes, and nuts can be more beneficial if they are soaked in water over-night or at least 4-6 hours.

Most of the foods mentioned are fairly easy to get so make sure to include rich food-enzymes on a daily basis this way your helping your digestive organs therefore keep your aging process slow with grace, obtain healthy skin, and other health benefits.
