Resistance Bands Benefits Vs. Free Weights Benefits

Part II

In Part I article of Resistance Bands Benefits Vs. Free Weights Benefits...Which One is Better for Exercising and Shaping Your Body? In that article we discussed the differences of both training methods and we finished talking about the advantages and disadvantages of free weights.

In Part II we’ll talk about resistance bands benefits for exercising and they can be as effective as free weights in several ways..

As I mentioned in Part I article that as long as you induce some kind of load on your muscles whether it's your bodyweight, free weights, or resistance bands/tubes; your muscle fibers will be stimulated and start to go through the process of building up muscle fiber size (called hypertrophy) and/or increasing the number of your muscle fibers (called hyperplasia). So, your muscles can certainly utilize the resistance bands benefits as well as other external load.

Resistance bands benefits are numerous and versatile and can be applicable in the same manner when using free weights.

Also, it's worth noting that although the load you use for exercising is helpful and necessary in some situations, it is the individuals' creativity and knowing 'how to' manipulate whatever tools they has in their hands that makes the difference.

If you browse in how-to-exercise.com website you'll learn many exercise tricks; for example, by using only bodyweights and other limited tools that you never thought you could use them for exercising and building muscular upper and lower body.

Resistance Bands Benefits

-First and foremost, they're very effective in transforming your body (losing body fat and/or building muscles)

-You can exercise using them virtually anywhere; resistance bands/tubes can be used in the convenience of your house, office- if you want too, outdoors, and the list goes on.

-They take little space in your house and comparing to free weights there's far less chance of causing any damage in your place.

-Resistance bands are safer than free weights during exercise performance.

-Very convenient to travel with.

- More affordable than free weights.

Resistance Bands/Tubes Disadvantages

Like I mentioned before it's almost impossible to know precisely how much weight you're lifting in contrast to free weights. But this factor to most people is not that important unless you're a professional power lifter or an Olympic weightlifting athlete.

Resistance bands usually come with a manual guide which tells you the tension level and its equivalent poundage. For example, some companies sell resistance bands with different colors(Yellow, green, blue, to black) to indicate the different levels of tensions(easy to hard) and its equivalent weight in pounds (2-150 pounds).

Another disadvantage is according to my long personal experience exercising with free weights; the resistance bands don't provide the same exciting feeling when lifting large and heavy weights. In other words, mentally it's more fun and ego-boosting to see yourself bench press 365 pounds than doing push ups using the blue or black resistance band color to add external resistance.

So now you have the knowledge to see which tool exercise is more feasible to your time schedule, busy life, lifestyle, space availability and other factors. The important thing to decide NOW is to start exercising in order to reach your goals whether adding up some muscles, losing weight or just getting active physically.
