How Rowing Machines Provide

A More Complete Home Workouts

Among the many aerobic and calorie burning machines if I have to choose only one, then rowing machines would be my first choice.

Rowing machines are one of the few pieces of home equipment that exercise many muscle groups.

If you want to build and tone your muscles, simply set your rowing machine up for a higher resistance level and start sweating and building back and leg muscles. Muscles that are most targeted when using the rowing machine are the following:

-leg muscles; quadriceps, hip-flexors, lower leg muscles (one of them is the claves) and to lesser degree the hamstring group muscles.

-The upper body muscles, and more specifically the muscles that act on the shoulder (or scapula) and arm (or humerus), are the following:

- Rhomboideus Major

- Rhomboideus Minor

-Trapezius

-Latissmus Dorsi m (to a lesser degree)

-Rear Deltoid

-Upper Arm Biceps and lower arms (the forearms).

-Also your deep muscles in your torso the exetnesors and flexors

Yup, that’s a lot of muscles that are put to work, therefore, rowing machines have a great calorie burning potential because they exercise the largest muscle groups of both the upper and lower body areas.

For the women out there who want to tone their legs, the rowing machines help tone all the thighs and buttocks, and firm up the arms and all the back muscles together.

The stationary rowing machines make it possible and easy for outdoor individuals who don't have access to boats or rivers to actually row within their own homes.

Wrap Up

Rowing machines are the perfect fitness equipment both for losing weight, improving stamina, burning calories, and to rehabilitate muscles and joints after an injury. Rowing machines are great for use at home, and some can even be folded for easier storage.

The latest technology has designed some of the best rowing machines by making them so good at simulating the real activity that you get the exact same workout as those on the river.

Still, try out and test different rowing machines long enough to see if it will be comfortable and user friendly before deciding to purchase one.

And as I mentioned before in the Treadmill and Elliptical articles, you should consider the same basic but important factors like a warranty that covers your investment for at least 1 year and reading some reviews. So do your search online and find the best one that suits you.
